The computer is one of the most immensely capable devices that humanity has ever built. Not since fire and the wheel has a human construct been this useful for so many different things. While the computer may not be able to hold things while they are in transit or cook our meals, it has demonstrated over time that there are a very few other things which it can not do. Truth be known, the computer is an incredible tool for almost every function under the Sun. Of course it can help us learn, but only to a point.
After all, the computer has had numerous different types of programs put together, which can help an aspiring student to learn just about anything that they desire. Once you have a few basic skills down which the computer may not be able to help you with (such as using the keyboard and mouse, and being able to read to some basic extent), you can learn anything from how to fix something in your home to how to speak a foreign language. Also we can continue our studies by various online college degrees. In truth, the only limits to what a computer can help you to learn, other than things which have a physical component (which is why there are no computer programs which teach brain surgery), are what you do not want to learn in the first place.
A computer can help you to learn a great many things, but it can not do so if you are not genuinely interested in doing so. While the computer can easily present you with all manner of different types of information, it is a lot like leading a horse to water. It is ultimately going to be your decision as to whether or not you partake of the information which the computer offers you. If you don’t, you have no one to blame other than your own lack of wherewithal.
