It is a constant challenge to find ways to reach kids in which they are both learning and entertained. However, this is the job that a teacher faces on a daily basis. This is one of the most challenging aspects of the career, being able to get all of the information to the students in a way that they will remember and will find it interesting. This is why it is so important to rely on all of the different ways in which to provide the information to the students for it to be able to get to them. It is no longer just throwing notes on a black board and expecting the students to retain and understand.
Students today need to be engaged in order to be able to learn. They need interaction and the ability to have the material presented to them in a multitude of ways. Be it visually, listening or reading it there has to be a way to convey the information. This is why teaching it has become such a challenge for so many. Not all students will retain the information in the same way so by engaging as many of the senses as possible of the student with the information the teacher will better be able to reach and teach these students.
However, this will also cut into the amount of material that is able to be covered in the same amount of time that it was covered previously. This is because by having to use multiple approaches to teach the same material you will need to allow for more time for all of these things to occur. This is why one needs to be patient and understand why it is not the same as it was when you went to school. Teachers now have to do so much more, with a lot less time to do it.
